MAGELANG, Indonesia, June 8 (Xinhua) — People gathered at Borobudur temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia to celebrated the Vesak Day, one of the most sacred days of Buddhists.
Vesak Day is observed during the full moon in May or June each year to mark the birth, enlightenment and demise of Buddha. Devotees and tourists also light lanterns to celebrate the illumination of Buddha, as well as to release negative elements away, with prayer and hope posted in every lantern.
