Expect holiday allowance to improve officials’ performance: minister – ANTARA News

The disbursement of the allowance will begin on D-10 of Eid-al-Fitr.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has said that the disbursement of religious holiday allowance (THR) by the government to state civil apparatuses is expected to motivate them to improve their performance and services.

“The disbursement of religious holiday allowance is a way for the government to honor the contribution of all government apparatuses in the hope that in the future, everyone can improve performance, enhance public services, and pursue innovation,” he said during a press conference with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, which was accessed online from here on Wednesday.

He further informed that the allowance has been provided as part of the government’s effort to improve the economy by supporting the apparatuses with funding, which they can spend on their needs.

Hence, the allowance can serve as a fiscal instrument to cement the foundation of national economic recovery, he added.

The minister also expressed his gratitude to all government apparatuses for giving their best to provide public services.

According to him, they worked hard to pursue innovations to help people, and thereby, enable Indonesia to grow despite emerging challenges.

The real contributions of the apparatuses include those made during COVID-19 handling, when they collaborated and worked hard to eradicate the coronavirus, he said.

“State civil apparatuses and national defense force and police force, as well as the general public, together put the pandemic situation under control, and Indonesia’s pandemic handling is one of the best globally,” he remarked.

On the same occasion, Minister Indrawati said that the government will disburse the 2023 religious day allowance 10 days prior to Eid-al-Fitr.

“The disbursement of the allowance will begin on D-10 of Eid-al-Fitr. Approximately on 4th April (2023), it’s going to be disbursed,” she said.
