JAKARTA, May 24 (Xinhua) — Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and her Slovenian counterpart Tanja Fajon on Wednesday agreed to explore trade and investment cooperation between the two countries while accelerating the completion of negotiations on the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
“We have agreed to explore more potential trade cooperation, such as in pharmaceuticals, textile products, and furniture,” Marsudi told a press conference in Jakarta.
Renewable energy, technology, and innovation are the priority investments, and the two ministers also decided to look into collaborating in the areas of education and culture, according to the press conference.
They will organize a bilateral forum soon.
Slovenia is Indonesia’s second-largest trading partner in the Balkans. Trade between the two countries climbed by 45.4 percent in 2022, Marsudi said.
