JAKARTA, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) — At least six people were killed in flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rain on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, an official said on Friday.
The floods and landslides hit the districts of Karangasem, Jembrana, Tabanan, Bangli, Gianyar and Badung.
The disasters which had struck the island since Monday also damaged infrastructures, public facilities and houses, head of Bali Disaster Mitigation Agency I Made Rentin told local media.
“The public is advised to remain alert to extreme weather that could potentially cause hydrometeorological disasters, such as floods, landslides, strong winds and fallen trees among others,” Rentin said.
