Former RCB skipper and veteran batter Virat Kohli once reclaimed the coveted IPL Orange Cap with a 42 run knock against the Gujarat Titans. However, Kohli’s recent gesture towards fellow teammate Dinesh Karthik during the Orange Cap ceremony after the match has come on the radar with netizens lauding the gracious effort by the former India skipper.
Virat Kohli who had been consistently on top of the IPL run scorers rankings had been temporarily displaced by CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad with 509 total runs to his name. However, Kohli’s 42 run knock against GT meant that he was once again leading the Orange Cap tally.
Kohli has been in sensational touch this season, scoring 542 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 148 and an average of 67. Meanwile, the veteran batter hasn’t had much help from other batters in his side with the exception of newbie Will Jacks and veteran batter Dinesh Karthik.

Notably, Virat Kohli bowed down towards Dinesh Kartik before he was adorned with the Orange Cap, bringing smiles to both the players’ faces. Karthik on his part, hugged his teammate before the duo eventually moved back to the dressing room.
Interestingly, it was Karthik who helped steer the sinking RCB ship on Saturday and guided them to a comfortable 4 wicket victory after losing quickets following a stellar start of 92/0 in the first 5.5 overs.
The win on Saturday has helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru keep the hopes of making the playoffs alive while the moved to the 7th spot in the Points Table with 8 points to their name. The Faf Du Plessis led side will need to win all their remaining 3 games and before waiting for the results of other teams to see if they can make it to the playoffs this year. RCB will next be playing against the Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium on May 9.applauds
